Subject Matter Expert: Clinical Social Work, Restorative Justice, and Peace Promotion
Colleen Ford has her Ph.D in social work and is a licensed clinical social worker. She has been in the helping profession since 1991, working with a variety of populations and programs such as: at risk youth, mentoring programs, after-school programs, peer mediation programs, case management, alternatives for youth program providing counseling and evaluation to help youth at risk avoid the criminal justice system, Project Liberty, providing counseling for those exposed to terror related trauma after 911, was a psychiatric social worker for a local county on their Assisted Out Patient treatment Unit assessing if clients with serious and persistent mental health issues met the criteria to be mandated in to treatment, and as a principal research analyst for a probation department. Since 2002 to the present Dr. Ford runs her private practice providing therapy for individuals, couples and families. She has a Ba in psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Masters in Social Work from Stony Brook University, NY and Ph.d in Social Work form Adelphi University, NY.
Dr. Ford is dedicated to helping those she works with find inner and outer peace and is looking forward to expanding her role to help more people manage conflicts peacefully through dialogue, and increased spiritual awareness of one human race family.
